Silk is my Japanese adventure and my “Zen” album, which I created during a writing retreat in a Ryokan (traditional Japanese Inn) close to Japan's ancient capital, Kyoto. It was not difficult to be inspired while surrounded by bamboo forests, waterfalls, mist covered mountains, ancient temples and sacred shrines! When writing Silk, I found the Solo Piano to be the perfect vehicle to incorporate the Japanese “Zen” philosophies of simplicity, beauty and space into serene, touching and emotionally moving music. cic.
